5/29/00. Moonflower seeds are large and have a very hard covering.
5/29/00. I soaked these seeds overnight in warm water to soften the outer covering. They softened just fine; two of them split.
6/12/00. Finally!! One out of 8 seeds planted has finally sprouted.
6/16/00. Interesting.
6/27/00. Two leaves now.
7/5/00. Moving right along.
7/13/00. I think it's probably time to get this thing planted.
7/13/00. Planted at the back of the front porch bed. IF it ever starts to run, I want it to climb the porch railing.
7/23/00. I know it's only been 10 days, but I don't see any growth--in fact, I think it's shrinking!!
| Fast forward a year--I'm determined to get a moonflower to grow and bloom!!!
4/29/01. I will not give up. I will not give up. I will not give up. Moonflower sprouting in a new year.
5/18/01. Already further along than last year; I'm taking that as a good sign.
6/7/01. Looking good. Fingers crossed!
7/8/01. Planted and starting to climb.
7/21/01. First bloom!!!!!!
8/8/01. Climbing!
8/11/01. Buds.
8/30/01. Several blooms and foliage is getting thicker.
12/22/01. Just like the Energizer Bunny, this thing just kept going, and going! Finally got too cold for it, though.
