I decided to leave the pansys and see what they'll do--just cut them off and planted 'Pacifica Red' vinca and 'Yellow Boy' French dwarf double marigolds amongst the pansys, just to have some color in this bed for the summer. I plan to redo this bed in the fall. 5/25/00. Close-up of 'Pacifica Red' vinca. 6/7/00. No descernible growth here. 6/15/00. A little bigger. 6/22/00. OK, definitely bigger now. 6/28/00. Now we're talkin'. I guess I shouldn't be surprized at the slow growth. These plants didn't have really good root systems when I planted them. 7/12/00. Really growing now. 7/25/00.
