The beginning 9/14/05. And so it begins--the first decking board is removed to make way for the addition.
More removed 9/14/05. Next, one of the double outside floor joists is removed.
Posts 9/14/05. Next order of business is to put the corner posts in...
Concrete 9/14/05. ...and set them in concrete.
Framing up 9/15/05. Beginning the frame.
More framing 9/15/05. The other corner.
Framing done 9/15/05. Pretty much all of the framing is done.
Back rails out 9/19/05. Back "wall" of the gazebo removed.
Top rail off 9/19/05. Removing the top rail.
Corner posts 9/19/05. Fixin' to cut the corner posts off.
Corner posts 9/19/05. Cutting the posts off.
Post base 9/19/05. One new opening post base in place.
Post base 9/19/05. The other post base being attached to the frame.
Post 9/19/05. New opening post in place.
Post 9/19/05. Top of opening post.
Recycling 9/20/05. The old upper rail is recycled...
Upper rail 9/20/05. ...and used.
Upper rails 9/20/05. All upper rails replaced.
Decking 9/20/05. Starting to lay the decking.

Rails 9/21/05. Beginning to put the rails up.

Pickets 9/21/05. Starting to add the pickets.
Wiring 9/21/05. A notch was cut out of the top of each picket to allow the wiring for the lighting to be out of sight and protected from the weather.
Pickets done 9/21/05. Pickets done.
Top rail 9/22/05. Top rail going on--wide enough on which to set drinks.
Top rail 9/22/05. Top rail finished.
Lights 9/22/05. Lights installed.
Lattice 9/27/05. Lattice around the bottom.
Done 9/27/05. All done.
Done 11/26/05. This red stick tree was gorgeous on the gazebo deck at Christmas. Unfortunately, it died in it's first season and was returned.
