Narcissus

No flowers speak of springtime with more eloquence than narcissuses, nor can any other spring flower be planted with more assurance of success; given a minimum of care, most kinds not only will endure in a garden for many years, but will increase abundantly each growing season.
Most narcissus can remain in the ground over winter in Zones 4-10. All grow well in full sun or the shade of deciduous trees. Plant the bulbs as soon as they become available in the late summer. The earlier the bulbs are planted, the better root systems they can develop. Plant each bulb to a depth three times it's diameter. Work bone meal into the soil prior to planting. Clumps may be dug up in midsummer and small bulbs that develop around the larger ones can be separated and all replanted in late summer. Store dug up bulbs in a cool, dry place until planted.

  Daffodil Line

Daffodil IconSpring 2000 A mixed bag; some of these I know the name of, some I don't. I know they're all pretty.
Daffodil Icon'Ziva' Paperwhites Large clusters of pure white flowers arch above graceful, blue-green foliage, and their sweet, musky perfume fills a room with fragrance.
Daffodil Icon'Tete `a Tete' Buttercup yellow petals surround the egg-yolk yellow corona. Each stem bears 1–3 perky flowers, and each bulb produces multiple stems. Heirloom, pre-1949. 5–6in. Early.
Daffodil Icon'Minnow' A fragrant Tazetta type with white petals surrounding small, buttercup yellow centers. The petals open light yellow and grow paler with age. With 3–5 blooms per stem, this dainty little bulb puts on a surprisingly big show. 5–6in. Midseason.
Daffodil Icon'Palmares' Beautiful Butterfly daffodil with creamy white perianth and salmon pink crown.
Daffodil Icon'Pink Pride' Reflexed ivory white petals set off a large, flat, scalloped cup in sun-proof peachy pink. 18–20in. Midseason.
Daffodil Icon'Thalia' The fragrant flowers are the whitest of whites and out-facing. They are borne 2–3 per stem. Heirloom, 1916. 12–14in. Late midseason.
Daffodil Icon'White Cheerfulness' Creamy white petals shelter a rosebudlike white center flecked with light yellow. The flowers, which are borne in 2s or 3s on each stem, have a sweet, musky fragrance. An excellent, long-lived perennial. Heirloom, 1923. 14–16in. Late.
Daffodil Icon'Yellow Cheerfulness' A showy, out-facing garden plant with 2–3 soft primrose yellow, rosebudlike, fragrant flowers per stem. This excellent perennial has narrow, dark green leaves. Heirloom, 1937. 14–16in. Late.
Daffodil IconOld Daffodils, 2001 Old, unnamed daffodils. Yellow, with medium sized cup.
Daffodil IconUnknown Daffodils, 2001 Several varieties, the names of which I'm not sure.
Daffodil Icon'Erlicheer' Ten-inch stems bear 6-8 clustered flowers with pure white perianths and fully double, soft yellow centers shaded to ivory. Very fragrant. Midseason.
Daffodil Icon'Geranium' This fragrant, cluster-flowering narcissus produces anywhere from three to twenty flowers per stem. White flowers with a vivid orange cup.
