![]() Narcissus |
| No flowers speak of springtime with more eloquence than narcissuses, nor can any other spring flower be planted with more assurance of success; given a minimum of care, most kinds not only will endure in a garden for many years, but will increase abundantly each growing season. Most narcissus can remain in the ground over winter in Zones 4-10. All grow well in full sun or the shade of deciduous trees. Plant the bulbs as soon as they become available in the late summer. The earlier the bulbs are planted, the better root systems they can develop. Plant each bulb to a depth three times it's diameter. Work bone meal into the soil prior to planting. Clumps may be dug up in midsummer and small bulbs that develop around the larger ones can be separated and all replanted in late summer. Store dug up bulbs in a cool, dry place until planted. |
