| October 4, 2003 Rose 'Gruss an Aachen' still blooming. Planted white camellia sasanqua in the new storage room bed. It's full of buds and already starting to bloom. Camellia sasanqua 'Yuletide' is also full of buds. Camellia japonica has a cottony film on many of the interior leaves and branches. Rhododendron 'Nova Zembla' appears to maybe have a blossom bud. |

| October 11, 2003 'Heritage' rose is still blooming profusely. Old toadlily full of blooms. Planted a new toadlilly: 'Miyazaki'. It has a yellow bloom. Repotted clematis 'Polish Spirit' two. Planted clematis 'Silver Moon. Planted coral bells 'Viking Ship. Planted tiarelly 'Herrondswood Mist'. Crepe myrtle 'Chickasaw' dead; chewed off underground, despite the bed being lined with hardware cloth. I'm bummed. |
