3/4/00. Clematis viticella 'Polish Spirit' is poking through the ground.

3/17/00. Grown quite a bit in two weeks.

4/19/00. Still growing pretty well, but I'm not sure it's getting enough sun where it is.

4/24/00. Not growing much now. I think I'll move it to the front where it will get more sun.

5/14/00. I did move it, and in the process, broke the longest stem off by the ground. So I decided to prune it all off. Seemed to take forever, but finally I see some new sprouts.

6/2/00. Now we finally have leaves.

6/4/00. The leaves are getting bigger. This is a good sign. Hope the underground varmits don't find it.

6/12/00. Well. This plant seems to want to grow, after all. I didn't much care one way or the other when I moved it, because I really don't care for those huge Clematis blooms, but it's putting up such a fight, that now I'm rooting for it!

7/1/00. Needed something to cling to, so we stapled some wire fencing to the porch post.

8/2/00. It keeps getting taller and taller, so we wrapped wire fencing around the post for support.
