4/21/00. Just purchased Echinecea purpurea (Purple Coneflower) 'Magnus' in a one gallon container.
4/24/00. Planted in the quarter-round bed to mark time until this fall when I redo this bed. Maybe I can divide this plant at that time. That would be nice.

5/25/00. Blossom buds are growing nicely.
5/28/00. Blossom buds are beginning to open up, revealing the center, which I assume will develop into the "cone" in coneflower.
5/28/00. I've noticed these insects, on the new stalk only, a couple of times in the last week. Appear to be an aphid-type critter. Doesn't appear to be any damage as yet. Will watch closely.

5/31/00. This entire plant is growing well.

7/7/00. Lots of blooms now.
