Also known as Spiked Speedwells, Veronicas are highly valued as long-blooming plants that grow 12-18 inches tall and bear colorful 6- to 8-inch spikes of tiny flowers.
Speedwells grow in Zones 3-10 except in Florida and along the Gulf Coast. They need full sun and well-drained soil. Set plants 12 to 15 inches apart. Start named varieties from stem cuttings in spring and summer for flowering the next year. Divide clumps in spring or fall every three or four years of flowering.
