3/11/00. This is the most blooms I've had on this bush. I bought the container-grown 2 year old plant about 4 years ago, and it has grown vigorously. There are more blooms around the back and porch-side, and quite a few have fallen off already.

3/11/00. Absolutely beautiful bloom.
3/14/00. This is what happens after two nights of below freezing temperatures. This bloom was exposed on the front of the bush.
3/14/00. This bloom was somewhat protected by leaves and branches.
4/8/00. New growth comes soon after blooms fade.
5/8/00. New growth is almost fully developed now. See how green and glossy the leaves are.
5/30/00. New growth taking over the steps. I'll have to prune some of these branches and see how if affects bloom next year.
6/7/00. Pruned the camellia pretty drastically. I'm sure I won't get any blooms next year, but there was no choice. In the next year or two, the Rose of Sharon will have to come out, and that will give the camellia more room.
7/11/00. Fair amount of new growth since the radical pruning.
7/11/00. Could this be a blossom bud? It IS on an unpruned branch, I think.
10/9/00. Yep!! Gonna have some blooms next winter after all. Maybe.
10/26/00. Buds are swelling and already have a little color.
11/4/00. A bloom. Already. Very Early. Very pretty. And very welcome at this time of the year.
11/5/00. Fully open bloom.
11/17/00. Another one almost open.
11/20/00. I cut this one to take inside. Freeze warning for tonight; it would burn if I left it out.
12/16/00. Several buds just waiting to open up.
1/19/01. First bloom of 2001.
1/19/00. Closeup.
2/3/01. At least one bloom coming along all the time.
