4/30/00. After trying different trellis designs that didn't work as well as I had hoped, I tried this bean teepee technique. It works quite well and I've now used it for several years. I planted two teepees in each of two beds, with six seeds around each leg.

5/6/00. 'Kentucky Blue' snap beans are coming up already! Only 6 days to germinate. At least five seeds up at each pole so far, and some with all six sprouted!

5/7/00. In just one day, the earliest sprouts are putting out their first pair of true leaves.

5/10/00. Vigorous growth here.

5/23/00. Growing really well. Should soon start to run up the teepee poles.

5/28/00. Tendrils are clinging and climbing well.

7/8/00. Beginning to look a little puny. Been watering nightly if there's no rain. Production has fallen to almost nothing.
