Park's Whopper 4/1/00 Just planted Park's Whopper.
Park's Whopper in greenhouses 4/1/00 I used clear plastic garbage bags (9 mil) with the bottoms cut out for these "mini-greenhouses." The bottoms are anchored with soil, and the tops with clothespins.
Park's Whopper buds 4/14/00 Park's Whoppers are budding.
Park's Whoppers are looking better 5/1/00 None of the tomatoes did well during the rainy/cloudy weather of a couple of weeks ago, but finally are looking a little better. Most earlier buds have fallen off, as expected.
Park's Whopper blooms 5/11/00 Looking SO much better!! I think these blooms are the real thing.
Park's Whopper 5/17/00 Plants growing very well. Vines are very strong and richly green.
Park's Whopper babies 5/21/00 Baby 'Parks Whopper' tomatoes.
Growing well 6/2/00 Tomatoes are growing well.
Mulched 6/10/00 Mulched with dried grass.
Blight 7/8/00 Looks like a case of blight.
Deceiving 7/27/00 Looks can be deceiving. These tomatoes are cracking too.
Summary: These didn't perform very well--probably due to the very wet spring, and the place they were planted stayed moist with poor air circulation. Because of this, early blight set in earlier than usual. Pulled up plants on August 12. I'm not sure if I'll try them again next year or not.
