The bottoms are anchored with soil, and the tops with clothespins. 4/11/00 Supersteaks are budding! 4/18/00 In the last few days, I've noticed the Supersteaks are developing yellow lower leaves. 5/1/00 None of the tomatoes did well during the rainy/cloudy weather of a couple of weeks ago, but finally are looking a little better. Most earlier buds have fallen off, as expected. 5/11/00 Looking SO much better!! I think these blooms are the real thing. 5/17/00 Entire plant growing well and is very green. 5/21/00 Baby 'Supersteak' tomato. 6/2/00 'Supersteak' plants look very healthy. 6/10/00 Mulched with dried grass. 7/9/00 Looks like a case of blight. 7/27/00 First 'Supersteak' tomato. 7/27/00 More to come. Summary: These tomatoes didn't perform well at all--probably due to the very wet spring, and the place they were planted stayed moist with poor air circulation. Because of this, early blight set in earlier than usual. Pulled up plants on August 12.
